Current membership in the ensemble includes musicians from Toledo, Newport, South Beach, Waldport, Ten Mile, and Florence. Many musicians also play in other musical groups such as Florence Brass, Dave Craddock Trio, Oregon Coast Chamber Orchestra, Florence Community Chorus, Calamity Jazz and Yachats Big Band.
Many of us played music from childhood and continue to improve our abilities. A few members, however, began playing as adults and some just a few years ago. We are an all volunteer, non-audition band welcoming beginners and experts alike. We always welcome new members in all sections. If you or anyone you know might be interested in joining us, please contact one of the officers listed on the contact page. We rehearse on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 alternating between Siuslaw HS and Waldport HS music rooms. We car pool as often as possible, so a ride is usually available.
Our season begins in mid-September and continues into June. We perform concerts in Florence and Waldport and the Performing Arts Center in Newport. We play annually for the Waldport High School graduation ceremony.
In years past, we have played for Rhody Days in Florence, Beachcomber Days in Waldport, and the La De Da celebration in Yachats.

The Pacific Wind Ensemble, a community band of the central Oregon coast, is presently composed of about 40 enthusiastic musicians who enjoy coming together to make music and share their music through local concerts.
